/ Case Four
This involved the carrying out of
test purchases on behalf of a large national builder's
merchants.
Members of our staff visit various depots nationally
and carry out purchases of building supplies.
During their visit they become friendly with the
staff to see whether they were prone to taking bribes
to put extra supplies in the van or to turn a blind
eye if this was done.
A number of staff have since been sacked and security
at various depots tightened. Again, small
concealed cameras have been used in the worst cases.
This exercise has enabled the employer to sack staff
who were behaving suspiciously in the past and replace
them with (hopefully) more trustworthy employees.
